District No. 24 19th August 1833
Know all men by these presents that we William Dennis, Amos Shap, William Carter, James Norris, Thomas Mynatt, Trustees of the 1st School District of Capt. Carter’s Company, do bind our selves, our heirs & assins in the Penal sum of two hundred Dollars to John T. Curl or his successor in office Chairman of Common School Commissioners. The condition of the above obligation is such that if the above described trustees Doth apply all the money we may receive from the Clerk of Common School Commissioners of Grainger County to carry on a common school in the District together with all the Donations we may receive, then the above obligation to be void; otherwise to remain in full force & virtue.
